(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The prosecution is expected to rest their case, and defense attorneys to begin their defense of Curtis Padgett in Linn County Court today.

Padgett is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his then Cedar Rapids neighbor Dennis First in 2007.

Investigators testified Friday that they found a partially bloody fingerprint belonging to Padgett on a knife sharpener in First's kitchen.

That print led to police charging Padgett for the crime after 16 years without a suspect.
