Des Moines Police Identify Shooting Victim

(Des Moines, IA) -- There's new information about a deadly shooting in Des Moines. Police say the man who died in shooting this week at a hotel on the city's south side has been identified as 30-year-old Sayvon Propps of Des Moines. A 31-year-old man remains hospitalized in critical condition. Police say it appears there was an exchange of gunfire in an Army Post Road hotel room Wednesday morning that resulted in Propps' death and injuries to the second man.

Police were called to The Ramada at 1810 Army Post Road around 4:30 a.m. April 10th, on a report of a shooting.

Officers say Propps was dead at the scene, the second man was transported to a local hospital by Des Moines Fire medics.
