Nebraska Electoral College Change Proposal Stalls

An amendment that would award all five of the state's Electoral College votes to the single candidate getting the most votes statewide fails in the Nebraska Legislature.

Nebraska is one of two states that awards Electoral College votes based on how candidates do in each in each of the state's three congressional districts.

A proposal to make Nebraska a "winner-take-all" state is still in committee, but the clock is ticking toward the end of the session.
