(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Five Cedar Rapids Police officers have been cleared in a deadly force case.

Investigators say on New Year's Day, 20-year-old Michael Griffin fired an automatic weapon into a residence before leading cops on a chase, and shooting at officers.

Once forced off the road, Griffin commited suicide. Officers thought he was firing at them again, so they fired 63-shots.

The Linn County Attorney says charges against the officers are not warranted.
