Iowa State Patrol Stops Eastern Iowa Speeder With Child Passenger

UNDATED -- Another example of drivers going too fast on Iowa's interstates takes a shocking turn.

The Iowa State Patrol says a trooper in a marked patrol cruiser was passed on I-80 near West Branch by a car going more than 100 miles an hour.

The trooper says a passenger in that speeding car--a small child in the back seat who wasn't wearing a seat bet.

The patrol says the driver was stopped before anybody was hurt.

The Iowa State Patrol says it's seen an ongoing rise in the past few years of speeding drivers going in excess of 100 miles-per-hour.
