New Omaha Assistant Fire Chief In Place

The Omaha Fire Department announces William Bernard is promoted to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief.

Bernard joined the Department in 2000, was promoted to Battalion Chief a decade ago, and has led the Emergency Medical Services Division as a Battalion Chief since 2018.

Among other responsibilities, like overall supervision of a shift, he will continue to oversee the OFD E-M-S Division in his new role.

Bernard holds a Paramedic Certification, along with an associate's degree in Fire Science and a bachelor's degree in Fire Service Management.
