Omaha Police Pursuit Goes Into Iowa

An arrest is made in a high - speed police pursuit that began in Omaha and ended near Shelby in western Iowa.

Omaha Police say their officers saw someone shooting a firearm from a vehicle early this morning near 33rd and Leavenworth Streets and a pursuit began when the driver refused to stop the vehicle.

On Interstate 80, the chase crossed the Missouri River into Council Bluffs as Bluffs Police picked up the chase.

Police say the vehicle finally stopped on I-80, mile marker 36, near Shelby, and the driver, 30-year- old female Cachelle Martin, was arrested.

Local charges are pending, and Omaha Police says extradition to the Nebraska side of the Missouri River will be sought.

No injuries are reported.
