(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Eastern Iowa Airport breaks its passenger record.

Last year, 1.4 million people flew out of the airport, beating the prior record of 1.3 million people in 2019.

Airport Director, Marty Lenss, says the momentum CID saw over the past year was related to the increase in air service options.

In 2023, CID added three new stops, including Fort Lauderdale, Washington D.C., and seasonal service to Miami on American Airlines.

When CID recorded the 2019 passenger total, the airport had service to 13 nonstop destinations, and now there are 19.
