(Davenport, IA) -- Another winter storm is on the way to Iowa. The National Weather Service says snow will begin falling in Western Iowa this evening, with the heaviest snow in Central and Eastern Iowa falling overnight.

Conditions could get even messier with the addition of some rain, and/or freezing rain added to the mix in Eastern Iowa Friday morning.

Once temperatures begin to fall Friday, blowing snow could cause whiteout conditions, while drifting could make roads very hazardous.

Forecasters say that by Saturday morning, there could be as much as ten inches of new snow on the ground in parts of Iowa.

Late Saturday temperatures will begin to plummet. Highs aren't expected to rise above zero Sunday, and Monday, with wind chills in the -20 to -30 range.
