Arrest In Omaha Police Cruiser Collision And Pursuit

Omaha Police say 36-year old Clay Dickinson is arrested on numerous charges after they say he rammed a police cruiser and led officers on a pursuit.

Officers went to the area of 88th Avenue and Boyd Tuesday evening after receiving information of a report of a stolen pickup truck in the area.

Officers turned on overhead lights, got out of a police cruiser, and approached the truck.

Investigators say the driver, later identified as Clay Dickinson, accelerated into the cruiser, pushing it into one of the officers.

No officers were injured.

Police got back into the cruiser and attempted to follow Dickinson, declaring a pursuit, but quickly lost sight of the truck.

Gang Unit officers then saw the truck near 42nd and Military and then found it abandoned near 42nd and Parker Streets.

Officers set up a perimeter and eventually arrested Dickinson without incident.

Officers booked Dickinson at Douglas County Corrections for destruction of property, flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, obstructing, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, and theft by receiving.

The truck was confirmed stolen out of La Vista.
