The filing of charges and a court appearance will be next for Kierre Williams of Sioux City, Iowa, who is in custody in connection with the stabbing death of Omaha Catholic Archdiocese priest Stephen Gutgsell.
"That's one thing that we're looking into real heavily is to how he came to Ft. Calhoun, and why Ft. Calhoun? and why the Father's rectory?" says Washington County, Ne Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Beckman, the lead investigator. "It's just, that's our big mystery right now."
Father Gutgsell died after being stabbed during a reported break-in at the St. John the Baptist Church rectory early Sunday morning.
