Cedar Rapids Man Appears In Court, Facing First-Degree Murder Charge

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A Cedar Rapids man, facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with a double homicide, has his first court appearance.

Cameron Leonard appeared in court Tuesday morning for the double fatal shooting that took place on October 5th at the Point Apartments in Cedar Rapids.

Court records say officers saw 21-year-old Maurice Brown and 21-year-old Myron Snyder, Jr. dead at the scene with gunshot wounds upon arrival.

Police say as Snyder was leaving the scene in his car, Leonard allegedly shot at Snyder 13 times, hitting him six times and killing him.

Leonard's next hearing is scheduled for November 21st at 8:30 a.m.
