(Iowa City, IA) -- The Iowa City Police Department is investigating an armed robbery and is asking the public for help.
Police responded to reports of an armed robbery just before 12:00 a.m. Saturday near Washington and Dubuque Street after a University of Iowa Hawk Alert was issued.
Officers say they did not find any evidence of the reported crime.
The robbery remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Iowa City Police Department.
There is also an up to $1,000 award offered by the Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers for anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest.
