(Marion, IA) -- A damaged Marion church is getting a new life. Twenty-million dollars in federal block disaster funds are being spent to turn First Methodist Episcopal Church into apartments. The 127 year-old church was scheduled for demolition after being damaged during the 2020 derecho. Contractors hope to begin work on the 20-million dollar project this year.
