Three Hurt In Linn County Crash

(Linn County, Iowa) -- Three people are hurt after a crash today (Thursday) on Blairsferry Road near Feather Ridge Road, east of the Chain of Lakes Wildlife Management Area. The Linn County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Jayden Myers of Palo rear-ended a pick-up truck, that was stopped in the road due to temporary bridge construction.

Myers' SUV became disabled in the road, the pick-up went into the ditch.

Myers was cited for failure to stop in a safe and assured distance. His passenger was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with severe but non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pick-up, 71-year-old Larry Byers of Florida and his passenger, 67-year-old Kimberly Byers were taken to St. Luke's for minor injuries.

Linn County Sheriff Deputies, along with Linn County Rescue 57, Monroe Township Fire Department, Hiawatha Fire Department and Area Ambulance Service responded to the crash.
