(Iowa) -- The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the state's pheasant population is up.

The DNR says this month's statewide pheasant population survey shows a 15 percent increase from last year and the highest count since 2015. The DNR says a normal weather and drier than normal spring is likely the reason for the rise in the state's pheasant population.

The full report is available on the Iowa DNR's website.
