Five People Hurt After Truck Slams Into Iowa House

(LeMars, Iowa) -- Several people were hurt this (Monday) morning after a truck drove into a home near Le Mars. KTIV-Sioux City reports the crash happened around 7 a.m. on Highway 3 east of Le Mars, when a driver lost control of a truck. The Iowa State Patrol says the driver, Jesus Lamaraz was driving eastbound on the highway when he suffered a medical emergency and veered off the highway.

Authorities say the truck went into a ditch, then went airborne and collided with a home at 35339 McKurth Drive.

Investigators say Almaraz and three passengers in the truck were injured, as well as one person in the house. Authorities say all five have minor injuries, and were taken to hospitals in Sioux City and Orange City.
