No Injuries After House Fire in Cedar Rapids

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Fire Department says no one was injured after a house fire on Thursday of last week.

Investigators say firefighters responded to reports of heavy smoke coming from a house Thursday afternoon. All residents of the home were able to get out safely, and the fire was put out around 5:45pm. Investigators say they believe the fire started in the kitchen, but the specific cause has yet to be identified.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
