Man Arrested In Omaha Shooting Charged With Assault

(Omaha, NE) -- A man arrested in connection with a weekend shooting in South Omaha is officially charged with 1st-degree assault. Twenty-three-year-old Manuel Ponce appeared in court this morning. Ponce is accused of shooting a person during an argument near South 42 and D Streets around 4:00 p.m. Sunday. He's being held on $75,000 bond and will be back in court in September.
