(Des Moines, IA) -- The Ankeny Fire Department's investigating a fire last (Monday) night at a storage facility. Crews were called to the Storage Mart off Southeast Delaware Avenue and Southeast 3rd Street at 9:34 p.m.
Crews arrived and saw fire coming from multiple storage units and thru the roof and could hear explosions, prompting calls for additional departments from Altoona, Bondurant, Johnston-Grimes, Saylor, and Polk City.
Crews immediately forced entry into numerous storage units and started working to put out the fire. Additional crews used water from hose lines and a tower ladder for several hours to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
