(Davenport, IA) -- ImpactLife, the organization that supplies blood to 120 hospitals throughout the Midwest says a shortage of blood is looming in the region. Kirby Winn, Public Relations Director for ImpactLife says "we do have blood on the shelves at hospitals, but the projections for the next several weeks aren't looking very good."

To increase the number of Midwesterners donating blood, the organization is giving $50 gift cards to first time donors through September 10th.

ImpactLife has donation centers throughout the Midwest including Davenport, Moline, Muscatine, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Coralville, and Dubuque. You can find the ImpactLife donation center nearest you, and make an appointment to donate blood at BloodCenter.org.
