(Iowa City, IA) -- The mother of a man accused of murder is now on trial herself. Lima Younes is in Johnson County court this week facing charges of helping her son flee the country. Her son, 20 year-old Ali Younes was set to stand trial in May 2022 accused of robbery and attempted murder of a woman on the University of Iowa campus in Iowa City. Police say that Younes parents helped their son remove an ankle monitor and drove him to O'Hare Airport in Chicago. Ali Younes flew to Jordan the next day where he remains a fugitive. His mother's trial continues today.
