(Davenport, IA) -- Some relief from the dry conditions could come Saturday, June 24th. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities is predicting a slight chance for rain Saturday morning, but Meteorologist Alex Gibbs says odds of showers are better between 4 and 5 p.m. and again after 7 p.m. He says at this time it appears an inch of rain could be likely in the area.

The area could certainly use rain, given this week's U-S Drought Monitor map, which shows worsening conditions in both Illinois and Iowa.
