(Undated) -- Law enforcement across Iowa will be increasing their presence for the upcoming Independence Day holiday.

Local police and the Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau are taking part in the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign from July 1-5.

There will be more officers patrolling to try and prevent tragedies seen around the 4th of July holiday.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, 57% of the July 4th weekend traffic fatalities were alcohol-related in the state last year.
