Director of Iowa Department of Education Resigns, Replacement Named

(Iowa) -- The director of the Iowa Department of Education announces his resignation.

Governor Kim Reynolds' offices made the announcement Thursday that Chad Aldis will step down for family reasons after three months on the job. The Governor's Office has announced that McKenzie Snow, who is currently the Deputy Secretary of Education in Virginia, will fill the position starting on Monday. Snow served as a special assistant at the White House Domestic Policy Council during the Trump administration.

Chad Aldis will help with the transition through the end of this month.
