(Lincoln Co., NE) -- The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office says the man that was found dead inside a train engine near North Platte was from Mexico. Investigators say 56-year-old Bervardino Rodriguez Gonzalez of Altamira, Tamaulipas, Mexico likely got stuck in a small compartment in the train used to house a fire extinguisher and couldn't get out. His dead body was found around 2:25 p.m. Sunday at Union Pacific’s Bailey Yard. Investigators say he was likely dead for days before being found. His death has been ruled accidental. Union Pacific says the train was recently in Mexico before traveling to San Antonio, Texas, then to the Bailey Yard.
