No Swimming At Terry Trueblood Recreation Area Due To High E. Coli Levels

(Iowa City, IA) -- Swimming is off-limits at the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area in Iowa City due to high levels of E. Coli in Sand Lake.

The city says the public is advised to not enter or let pets get in the water.

Water tests of Sand Lake showed E. Coli levels above the safe standard for swimming last month.

The city conducts tests weekly and posts update every Friday.

Terry Trueblood is a popular spot for kayak and paddleboard rentals.

The closure will last indefinitely until water quality improves.
