(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- School Resource Officers are staying in Cedar Rapids.

The school district approved a new contract yesterday.

It comes as new SRO data shows student arrests nearly doubled in the last school year.

Forty-six different students faced a combined 63 charges in the 2022-23 school year.

In the previous year, 23 students faced 34 charges.

Fifty-seven percent of all charges in the last two years were levied against male students.
