Illinois Governor Signing Bill Against Removing Books From Libraries

(Springfield, IL) -- Governor J.B. Pritzker is signing a bill against removing books into law today.

The new law allows the Illinois Secretary of State's Office to deny grant funding to public and school libraries that remove books for "partisan or doctrinal" reasons.

The legislation goes into effect in January.

Governor Pritzker will sign the bill today at Harold Washington Library in Chicago.
