(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- a Cedar Rapids man charged with involuntary manslaughter is asking for a new trial ahead of his sentencing on Friday.

Arthur Flowers is accused of killing Emily Leonard in 2022.

He says he didn't get a fair trial because there was only one minority jury member during the trial.

The petition also claims the evidence doesn't match the verdict.

Flowers was originally charged with first-degree murder but is now facing up to 10 years in prison on a voluntary manslaughter conviction.
