One Dead After SUV-Semi Crash In Linn County

 (Linn County, IA) -- A passenger is dead after the SUV they were in collided with a semi this (Tuesday) morning in Linn County. The Linn County Sheriff's Office says a semi was headed west on County Home Road when a Nissan Rogue tried to cross the intersection of County Home Road and North 10th Street. The semi hit the SUV, the driver was taken to the hospital and the passenger died at the scene. The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries. The crash sent the vehicles into the yard of a vacant house.

The Sheriff's Office has released the names of those involved in the crash. Th person who died has been identified as 50-year-old David Dickson of Marion. The driver of the Nissan Rogue was 18-year-old Aubrey Griner, of Adel, and the driver of the semi was 74-year-old James Schmitt of Earlville, Iowa.
