(Lincoln, NE) -- Debate is scheduled for next week on a controversial bill in the Nebraska legislature.
On Tuesday Nebraska state senators will debate LB574, a bill that would ban gender-transitioning medical procedures for minors. Tuesday will be its third reading. An amendment was added to the bill this week, that would also limit abortions in the state to 12 weeks or earlier. “The Preborn Child Protection Act” was attached to LB574 by State Senator Ben Hansen of Blair.
The amendment comes after a six-week abortion ban failed to pass the Unicameral two weeks ago.
