On Monday, Governor Jim Pillen announced that he is extending the statewide open burning ban. The suspension is effective through midnight on Sunday, April 23. The ban was put in place due to extreme dry and windy conditions that pose major fire risks. The Governor's office says he will continue to monitor the conditions to determine if further extension is needed.
