Hubbell Mansion In Des Moines Sells For $2.2M

(Des Moines, IA) -- The historic Hubbell mansion or the "Castle on Cassidy Drive" in Des Moines has sold for $2.2 million.

The sale made headlines for how quickly it happened, in just 44 hours.

Local realtor Marcia Wanamaker and her husband Rick helped make the sale and she says the relatively lower price tag might explain why the property sold so quickly last week, in just 44 hours.

Even for how rare a space it is, she says the $2.2 million price tag was actually quite low compared to similar properties in other markets.

A prominent cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Eugene Cherny apparently loved the six-bed, six-bath mansion -- and the price -- so much, he wanted to buy it on the spot.

It's confirmed he will be living in the massive home.
