Des Moines Zoo Welcomes Back Wild Lights Festival

(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Blank Park Zoo will be hosting 50 larger-than-life, illuminated animal shaped lanterns. The Blank Park Zoo's Wild Lights Festival presented by MidAmerican Energy Company will feature underwater themed animals, giant insects, Asian mythical creatures, and endangered animals. There's also a 75-foot-long sunflower tunnel and a 33-foot-wide octopus.

“This is a magical all-new experience of light and culture,” said Anne Shimerdla, president and CEO of Blank Park Zoo. “It’s exciting to see Blank Park Zoo transformed.”

 Blank Park Zoo will hold a one-day sale on March 8. Tickets will be discounted up to 40 percent at www.blankparkzoo.com.
