(Ely, IA) -- The American Legion post in Ely is getting a $10,000 donation to build an All-Veterans memorial for the city's 150th birthday. The memorial will be built in downtown Ely. The money comes from South Slope Cooperative Communications. The city's 150th birthday celebration takes place this Friday and Saturday. A schedule of events is available here.
