(Iowa City, IA) -- University of Iowa is creating a new mental health center. The Iowa Center for School Mental Health is being created using $20-million in federal pandemic funding. Iowa’s College of Education Dean Daniel Clay says the center will help educators and those involved with students meet the mental health needs of K-through-twelve students in the state. The school will provide training opportunities and professional development for Iowa school teachers as well as social workers, counselors, and psychologists.
