Big Coaching Move In Nebraska Friday Night Lights

Omaha Westside High School Monday morning announces a new football coach, and administrators did not go far in making the hire, who comes from a longtime Westside Metro Conference rival.

They say Paul Limongi will move from Omaha Burke to be the Warriors' next Head Varsity Football Coach beginning with the 2022 season, pending District 66 Board approval.

Limongi, who has led the Burke football program for 16 years, will take over for current Westside Head Coach Brett Froendt, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

“Paul brings a great deal of experience to WHS,” said Westside Athletic Director Tom Kerkman in a news release. “Not only has he been successful on the football field, his teams are visible in the community. We look forward to him continuing to lead the WHS football team on and off the field.”

Limongi had a record of 106-55 record at Burke.

He led the Bulldogs to the 2018 Class A State Championship and coached Burke to a State Runner Up spot in 2011.
