State Patrol SWAT Makes Arrest In Central Nebraska Homicide

The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers arrest a person in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation in Grand Island.

The arrest was made after a standoff in St. Paul Thursday evening.

The Patrol says Grand Island Police were seeking to arrest 34-year old Donald Anthony of Grand Island as part of a homicide investigation and got a search warrant for a residence in St. Paul, where Anthony was believed to be.

The State Patrol SWAT was called in and determined that Anthony was the only person inside the place.

After approximately 90 minutes, SWAT troopers went into the residence and located Anthony barricaded inside an attic crawlspace.

He was taken into custody and has been turned over to Grand Island Police.

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office and St. Paul Police Department also assisted in this operation.
