(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A teenager who's accused of killing his parents at their home in Cedar Rapids will go to trial early next year. Seventeen-year-old Ethan Orton has pleaded not guilty to two counts of 1st degree murder. Earlier this week he demanded a speedy trial and his trial date was set for February 8th. He’s accused of killing Misty Scott-Slade and Casey Orton back in October. Police say Orton admitted to murdering his parents because he wanted to “take charge of his life.”
