(Des Moines, IA) -- Flags across Iowa will be lowered to half-staff on Tuesday, November 9th from sunrise to sunset in remembrance of Nohema Graber.

Graber is the Fairfield High School Spanish teacher killed last week.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced the order on Monday.

“My heart goes out to the family, friends, colleagues, and students that are dealing with this tragic murder of Nohema Graber,” said Gov. Reynolds. “Ms. Graber touched countless children’s lives through her work as an educator across our state by sharing her passion of foreign language.”

Flags on the State Capitol Building and all public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the state will fly at half-staff.

Others are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff on Tuesday.
