(West Des Moines, IA) -- The Annual Spring Cleanup in West Des Moines begins today. The city will allow people to throw items away that don't normally fit in their trash cans. The city will pick up items like mattresses, couches, small rolls of carpet, end tables, fans, lamps, and grills. The city says appliances, propane gas grills, air conditioners, and other like objects will not be picked up. More information on the city's website under the Residents tab. The pickups will be on a resident’s regular garbage collection day this week.
