More Capitol Riot Charges for Iowa Mother and Son

WASHINGTON, DC - A Des Moines man and his mother are facing federal charges for their alleged roles in January's riots at the U.S. Capitol.

Federal police say a tip led them to Salvador Jr and Deborah Sandoval, who can be seen on security footage assaulting D.C. police.

Salvador is facing 13 federal charges and his mother is facing five.

The Sandovals are both out of custody as they await trial. They'll next appear in court Friday. Another Des Moines man, Doug Jensen, remains in federal custody for his prominent role in the riot. His next court date is Thursday.

Leo Kelly from Cedar Rapids also faces charges in the Capitol riot.
