Second Gentleman Emhoff to Appear in Iowa Monday

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will be in Des Moines Monday.

He join former Iowa Governor and current Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack on the trip to speak about the American Rescue Plan.

President Joe Biden helped Democrats push the $1.9 trillion stimulus plan through Congress, and his administration has been actively promoting package.

Iowa's delegation to Washington voted on party lines on the bill, with the state's lone Democrat, Representative Cindy Axne, voting in favor. No Republicans in either the House or Senate voted in favor of the bill.

The White House says it'll follow up with more information about the Iowa trip by Emhoff, who is the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris.
