VIDEO: Small Iowa school pep band rocks Boys State B-Ball Tourney

(Des Moines, IA) -- A small Iowa high school has gotten a big reaction at this year's Iowa Boys High School State Basketball Tourney in Des Moines. Montezuma High School's pep band rendition of Van Halen's "You Really Got Me," among other songs, had basketball fans cheering for more and sharing video on social media.

A message on the high school's Facebook page states the band tries to do a variety of styles and songs, and students learn roughly 10-new songs each year.. The band does not play any song twice in one game.

Montezuma High School enrollment is less than 200 students. There are nearly 50 students in the band, and 12 junior high players that choose to play with the pep band. Pep bands are not allowed at championship games, so the pep band will be joining their classmates in the stands for today's championship game between the Montezuma Braves and the North Linn Troy Mills Lynx.
