More to Come After Fourteen Inches of Snow Reported in Iowa

NWS Local Storm Report Snowfall Total Analysis

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Heavy snow fell across the state Monday into Tuesday leaving behind up to 14 inches in some areas.

Local storm reports to the National Weather Service show 14 inches in southwestern Iowa, near Council Bluffs.

Des Moines got more than 13 inches.

Just north of Central Iowa, Ames got more than six inches.

The Cedar Rapids area didn't get as much as Central Iowa, between four and six inches reported there.

The Quad Cities got a little less than that, with between one and five inches reported in far Eastern Iowa.

The National Weather Service says another one-to-three-inches is expected this morning.

A winter storm warning is in effect in more than a dozen counties until noon.
