Man jailed in Polk County after overnight chase in Norwalk

(Polk County, IA) -- A man's in the Polk County Jail, facing multiple charges after an overnight police chase that ended in Warren County. Norwalk Police Chief Greg Staples tells WHO Radio News an officer spotted a suspect that had been involved in a earlier police chase in West Des Moines. That chase had been terminated by West Des Moines Police. The Norwalk officer tried to pull over the driver, who sped off onto Echo Valley Drive. Police say the driver, 36-year-old Ty White, eventually crashed into a ditch near Highway 28. White was not injured, but a passenger had non-life threatening injuries.

White's been charged with the following charges:

Eluding, Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Cancelled or Revoked, Improper Registration, Reckless Driving, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure To Stop In Safe and Sure Distance, First Degree Theft,
