Nebraska Governor Honors Law Enforcement, Orders Flag at Half-Staff

LINCOLN, Nebraska -- All U.S. and state flags are being flown at half-staff in Nebraska this week to honor law enforcement.

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts announced that flags are to be flown at half staff to honor the service and sacrifice of the U.S Capitol police officers who responded during capitol riots last week.

The funeral for fallen officer Brian Sicknick happened over the weekend.

Another capitol police officer, 51-year-old Howard Liebengood, died a few days after the riots.

In accordance with a proclamation from President Trump, flags will be flown at half-staff until sunset on Wednesday.
