Grassley Says President Trump Has Responsibility in Breach at Capitol

WASHINGTON, DC - Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley says President Trump has responsibility for the breach at the U.S. Capitol this week.

Grassley has called the breach a violent attack, and said Thursday that the President bears some responsibility for those actions.

He also said the President displayed poor leadership.

Grassley has been a strong supporter of President Trump, and campaigned for him before November's election.

The Senator has not joined Democrats and a few Republicans in Washington how have called for Trump to be removed from office before his term expires on January 20th.

Grassley is also the Senate President Pro Tem, and would have presided over the Electoral College confirmation that was disrupted by demonstrators, had Vice President Mike Pence declined to do so.
