ANN ARBOR, Michigan -- The Iowa-Michigan football game scheduled for Saturday at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City is being cancelled.

The University of Michigan says COVID-19 cases, combined with team injuries, means they don't have enough available players at a number of positions to field a team at Iowa

This is the first game for Iowa that's been directly effected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cancellation ends Michigan's season.

The 6-2 Iowa Hawkeyes now await a bowl game invitation.
